What is the Twin Falls Optimist Club Lost Wages Casino Night you may ask…
While you will not be able to win a stack of cash playing Texas Hold’em, due to Idaho gambling laws, organizers of Lost Wages Night promise loads of fun while raising money for a worthy cause.
Twin Falls Optimist Club invites area Youth to join us in the Optimist Essay Contest. Winner from the local level will be submitted to the Pacific Northwest District and National level where they can win up to $2,500 in scholarships.
The Coats for Kids program is available to all the youth in our community. The program’s goal is to reach those children who need assistance purchasing a winter coat. With the help of school districts and various outreach programs, requests for coats are made to the club. Members of the Twin Falls Optimist Club fill those requests and deliver the coats to the children.
Youth Support Services (YSS) is a committee within the Twin Falls Optimist Club. YSS was established to meet the immediate need of low-cost basic provisions for children/youth in our community. Each year we assist nearly 300 youth fulfilling requests such as winter boots, shoes/socks, backpacks and school supplies.
The Optimist Club Annual Easter egg hunt and the Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Department join together, putting out 100’s of eggs for the 2025 Easter Egg Hunt. The eggs contain candy, and a special few eggs containing paper, which the kids could claim a gold coin.
We meet every Thursday at noon at Idaho Pizza. You pay for your lunch as you enter the meeting; there is no charge to attend if you are not eating.
A normal meeting consists of project business and an interesting program. While the meeting ends at 1:00pm, it is fine to leave early if need be. We have a fine pot and raffle each week for fun; the funds are used to fund our YSS Program and half of the raffle money goes to the lucky ticket drawn. The raffle is $1, if you want to play, and fines are pocket change.
A mystery guest member is selected by the president before the meeting begins; if you miss shaking their hand, it is a fine. This promotes getting to know your fellow Optimists and having some fun in the process.
